We are excited and so honoured to share with you that we will be hosting Master Ewe drummer/dancer Dr. Kwashie Kuwor from Ghana at Rhythm Bliss Studios in Kerrisdale, Vancouver on Saturday July 19, 2025 for a two-part workshop.

About Dr. Kwashie Kuwor

Dr. Kwashie Kuwor is a highly sought-after master of the traditional drumming, dancing and songs from Ghana. Born and raised in Anloga, the heart of the Anlo-Ewe people of Ghana, he was raised around traditional music and dance from a young age and recognized for his prodigious talents and supported and encouraged by his elders. After his traditional learning period he attended the University of Ghana where he absorbed further music/dance traditions from around the country and later earned a PhD in Dance Anthropology in the UK. Over his career he has taught globally (UK, USA, Canada, Norway, Iceland, and South Africa) to students of drumming and dance of all ages and abilities at dozens of institutions from the pre-school to university. Known for his expressive and engaging teaching style, he excels in sharing the intricacies and cultural background of African drumming and dance and making it accessible for all. The workshops being offered are as follows:

2. SOLD OUT Intermediate Ghanaian Rhythm Workshop - 1:30pm-3pm for $40CAD, or
